Character of the village
Le Plan-de-la-Tour has no coastline, and that is the whole point. The commune occupies a granite basin in the Maures, nine kilometres from the sea, two thirds of it under forest. Housing scatters into some twenty hamlets, le Revest, les Gastons, Préconil, le Vernet, separated by vines and cork oaks. The village broke away from La Garde-Freinet in 1792 and has kept the independence of tone: people live here all year, between the wine cooperative and the school.

Schools and access
A nursery and a primary school in the village; secondary schooling is at Sainte-Maxime, Cogolin or Gassin. The commune is nine kilometres from Sainte-Maxime, which puts it within immediate reach of the gulf without its traffic: you drop down to the sea in a quarter of an hour and come home to silence. Plots here are larger than on the coast, for a far lower budget.
Art de vivre
This is the Provençal countryside as it is usually described: the harvest at les Fouleurs de Saint-Pons, chestnut trees, tracks between the hamlets, and a sky nothing lights at night. Buyers come here knowing exactly what they want, a farmhouse or a bastide with land, accepting the fifteen minutes by car that separate them from the beach.
Distances and journey times
Real journey times, measured against the road network, not straight-line estimates. Allow more in July and August: the gulf has one road and it saturates.
Distances and driving times measured against the road network (OSRM / OpenStreetMap). Cycling time is an estimate: the same road distance at an average of 15 km/h, and shown only where the ride is a realistic one.
The price, placed in the gulf
An average on its own says little. Here are the gulf's villages side by side, all property types combined.
DVF, DGFiP: average across all categories, 2025. An average is pulled up by the largest sales of the year; the median, which is steadier, is available on request. Share transfers in property-holding companies, common at the top of this market, are absent from DVF.

Frequently asked questions
Is Le Plan-de-la-Tour far from the sea?
The commune has no coastline: it lies nine kilometres from Sainte-Maxime, about fifteen minutes by car from the gulf beaches. That slight step back is what explains both the price gap and the size of the plots.
Does Tardieu Immobilier operate in Le Plan-de-la-Tour?
Yes. Our agency has been based in Saint-Tropez since 1967 and works in Le Plan-de-la-Tour directly: our mandates there are handled without an intermediary.
Do you handle properties that are not published online?
Some of our mandates stay off-market at the owner's request. Those properties appear neither on this site nor on the portals, and are presented after an initial conversation.
How does a valuation work?
We visit in person, examine the property, its aspect and its immediate surroundings, then provide a written, reasoned valuation. The process is free and without obligation.
Do you assist non-resident buyers?
Yes. We work regularly with an international clientele and coordinate viewings, dealings with the notary and follow-through to signature, in French or English.
